Taught by the Lord
All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be
your children's peace—Isaiah 54:13
 This is a Scripture that I pray over my children every day before they go to
school. Notice that it says the Lord will teach them. It didn’t say that mom
or dad would teach them.
This scripture really hit home. About a month ago my oldest
son, Justin, came home from school very excited. He shared how he would
have an opportunity to take a test for the gifted and talented. He asked
me if I would fill out the paper work and give him permission to take the
test. I did.
Well on the day of the test we agreed in prayer that he would pass. Now
came for my motherly advice. I—being super-spiritual mom—shared that
if he didn’t pass the test it was ok. I said, "The world may not
know you are gifted and talented, but God does. He has given all of us
gifts and talents."
My son Justin came back at me with piercing but profound words. He
said, "Mom, you don’t believe I could pass?" Wow! What a
rebuke. I quickly responded with an apology and praised him for his
response.
You see God’s Word was hidden in Justin’s
heart, and no one could take it away. God is so good. He truly is the best
teacher our children could have. By the way he
passed the test.
